Bible studies are held at people's homes usually alternating between Osgodby (just outside of Scarborough) or Falsgrave, Scarborough on Thursdays at 7:30pm Please phone for further details on 01723 352557

On the first Friday of the month we meet at the Cockleshell Café (behind St James Community Art Centre, 24 Seamer Road Scarborough YO12 4DT ) at 7:30pm

Where we discuss various questions raised on the streets of Scarborough and seek to look at Biblical answers.

Also on first Friday of month we usually have a literature table outside M & S in the town centre between 3pm and 4pm.

Name Change

We have now changed the name to Grace Fellowship as Scarborough Evangelical Fellowship was being confused with another church in the town with a similar name.

We are called Grace Fellowship because we believe in the free grace of God in salvation.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” Ephesians 2 v 8,9

Street Evangelism begins...

On Friday 12th June we had a literature table out in the town centre by the side of M & S. We will have the table out most days for the next 6 weeks.

We were asking the question “If you could ask God just one question..What would it be?”

and inviting people to Cockleshell Café on a Friday night where we will see what answers the Bible has to the most popular questions. Invitations were also given out to the Sunday Services.

Many profitable conversations were held and literature was taken.

Name Change

Originally we were meeting in the Falsgrave area and called ourselves Falsgrave Evangelical Fellowship. Now we also hold the midweek Bible study in the Osgodby area of Scarborough as well. To reflect this we have now changed the name to Scarborough Evangelical Fellowship.

Why are we called Scarborough Evangelical Fellowship?

Scarborough - as we desire to reach the whole of the Scarborough area with the Gospel

Evangelical this comes from the Greek word for “Gospel” or “Good News”
Good news is not about ourselves, what we have done, our experiences or some future events but rather what Jesus Christ has done (in the past) in his life, his death and resurrection, as revealed in the Holy Bible.
God sent his son Jesus Christ into the world to save sinners by dying in their place, as their substitute. We are justified by faith in him. Christ's righteousness being credited to our account and our sins charged upon him, all by his undeserved love and favour. Now we can be forgiven, not just forgiven, but counted righteous in his sight.

Fellowship – we are not a church but a fellowship of Christians under the leadership and guidance of Ryedale Evangelical church.

Acts of the Apostles

We have now completed our series on “Praying always” and have begun a new series which started on 11th March 2010 on the book of Acts.

Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The book of Acts divides in 3 sections:
Acts 1 -7 “you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem”
Acts 8 -12 - “in all Judea and Samaria,”
Acts 12 – 28 “to the end of the earth”

The book is about what Jesus continues to do through his Apostles by the Holy Spirit.

Initially we will be looking over the next few weeks at Acts chapters 1 to 7.

Bible Study in 2010

We have just finished our series on the book of James.

On Thursday,5th November,DV we will be starting a short series on Prayer using the book "Praying Always" by Frans Bakker.

The first one will be on Secret Prayer, based on Matthew 6:6
"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly"

Sixth & Final Summer Meeting 2009

On Sunday 23^rd August Graham Heaps from Dewsbury Evangelical Church took the sixth and final Summer Service. He preached on the 23^rd Psalm. Contrasting mere religion with the real knowledge and personal experience of the Shepherd.

Street Evangelism

On Saturday 22^nd August we had a literature table out in the town centre, outside Paver's Shoe shop. This was the second successive week we have tried such venture.

A profitable conversation was held with a lady who showed a lot of interest and took literature. A man, who was working on one of the stalls further down the precinct, also took and read a leaflet

Why are we called Falsgrave Evangelical Fellowship?

Falsgrave is the name of the area were we are meeting in Scarborough.

Report of the July Summer Services

We have had an encouraging start to a series of six Summer meetings with good attendances. At the opening meeting on Sunday the 19th of July 2009 David Magowan, the Pastor of Whitby Evangelical Church, spoke on the death of Christ from the text in 1 Peter 3 verse 18 "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."

On Sunday 26th July, William Horsburgh, the Pastor of Ryedale Evangelical Church, spoke on forgiveness of sins from the text in Acts 13 verse 38 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins"

Falsgrave Evangelical Fellowship Scarborough North Yorkshire

We have been holding a Bible study in the Falsgrave area of Scarborough since February 2007

Some of our fellowship group worship on a Sunday at Ryedale Evangelical Church in Pickering and others at Whitby Evangelical Church

Lord willing we plan to hold a Christmas Carol Service on 23rd December, where we will sing carols, hear a short message on the Christmas story, and enjoy fellowship and mince pies at 31 Wykeham Street Scarborough at 7:30pm.

We have just completed an 11 week Christianity Explored course that finished on 16th December 2008
